DANIEL STEINBERG is one of the most innovative producers that have recently emerged from Berlin’s electronic music scene. His unique twist of minimal house has caught worldwide attention with its characteristic beats, bleeps, bouncy bass lines and cut-up vocals sampled from scratchy old records. The resulting compositions are refreshing, ironic and fun, they’re played by the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin and Claude VonStroke. Daniel has released extensively on such excellent labels as Micro.fon, Grandpetrol, Front Room Recordings and Style Rockets, as well as Kiddaz.FM and Rompecabeza as his alter ego Harry Axt. This is the very first time Daniel Steinberg is performing in Japan and we are excited to have him with us at Minimal Tokyo.

DANIEL STEINBERG はベルリンのカッティングエッジなエレクトロニック・ミュージックシーンにて最も革新的なプロデューサーの一人。その特徴的なビート、電子音、軽快なベースラインと２０世紀初頭にリリースされ古いたレコードからサンプリングされた音からなる、彼独自のミニマルハウスが世界的に注目を集めている。Ricardo Villalobos、Richie Hawtin、Claude VonStrokeといったアーティストが、斬新で皮肉的、でも非常に楽しい彼の楽曲をプレイしている。 Micro.fon、 Grandpetrol 、 Front Room Recordings、 Style Rockets などの著名なレーベルから幅広くリリースし、また彼の別名義である Harry Axt の下、 Kiddaz.FM、 Rompecabeza からも作品を発表している。今回、Minimal Tokyoにて彼の日本初のパフォーマンスが実現する。

Minimal Tokyo presents summer lounge at Saloon with guest DJs Acht (Italobusiness, FHD Records) and Valentino de Bronff (Minimood).

ACHT a.k.a Yosuke Kamihigashi is an up-and-coming minimal techno producer and visual artist from Tokyo. His clicky, melodic and dreamy compositions have been recently released on such labels as Italobusiness and FHD Records and were a pleasant and enjoyable surprise. He says that his interest toward art and minimalism was first encouraged by his grandmother who was an ikebana instructor. As he studied art in university he continued to explore the ‘essense of expression’ being inspired by such minimalist masters as 
Touhaku Hasegawa, Frank Stella, Mark Rothko and Christian Boltanski. He started DJing in 2004 and composing in 2007 trying to express himself both through paintings and electronic sounds.

ACHT 東京出身、生け花の師範をである祖母から、多大な影響を受ける。その影響は、表現への喜びへと変わり、美術制作、絵画制作へと発展。制作活動を続ける中、徐々にminimal artへ傾倒していく。同時期に、minimal houseの洗礼を受け、サウンドとビジュアルを用いたインスタレーション形式で作品を発表。この頃から、ミニマルの持つ中毒性に大きな可能性を見いだしていく。2004年自然な流れで、DJ活動を開始。そして2007年から本格的にトラック制作をスタート。2008年に Italobusiness からSide EP、FHD Records からWhale EPをそれぞれリリース。現在、独自の感性、ビジュアルで培った感覚をミニマルといったフォーマットに落とし込み、新たな世界観を表現している。

VALENTINO DE BRONFF is an Austrian DJ and a co-founder of one of the best minimal techno and house record label Minimood. He DJs regularly with Minimal Tokyo crew, as well as all around Tokyo.

The Minimal Tokyo crew will team up with Organza for a minimal techno night at legendary Tokyo club Womb.

On the main floor, Organza resident DJs Pi-Ge and Taro Sugawara will be joined by guest artists Alex Under and Tadeo, accompanied by visuals from Minimal Tokyo resident VJ Spielfilm. Minimal Tokyo will take over the 1st floor lounge, where resident DJs Tatsuya, Ivan Kuzbass, Shu Okuyama (Milnormodern, Minimood) and GLMN© will join forces Valentino de Bronff (Minimood) to play cutting edge minimal techno, deep and tech house.

Alex Under (CMYK music, Trapez, PLUS8) has a significant influence on the Spanish techno scene. Based in Madrid, he received world-wide attention in 2005 after releasing his first LP “Dispositivos de mi Granja” on prestigious German label Trapez. Since then, Alex Under confirmed himself as one of the best producers and DJs in the international electronic dance music scene. His style is sometimes minimal and deep, sometimes hard and aggressive, but always original.

スペインのテクノシーンに重要な影響を及ぼした Alex Under (CMYK music, Trapez, PLUS8)はスペイン／マドリッドを拠点に活動している。２００５年にドイツの Trapez からリリースしたファーストLP「Disposit ivos de mi Granjahe」が世界的ヒットとなった後、世界のエレクトロニックダンスミュージックシーンの中でも重要なプロデューサーとなり、時にはミニマルでディープ、時にはハードでアグレッシブ、そしていつも彼オリジナルのサウンドをプレイしている。

Tadeo (Cyclical Tracks, CMYK Musik, Apnea) is a Spanish producer also known as Miguel Sar. Influenced by a wide range of electronic music, especially Detroit techno, Tadeo explored almost every style in electronic dance music. Today, he is one of the most prolific producers in Spain, where he runs his conceptual techno-dub label Cyclical Tracks.

Tadeo (Cyclical Tracks, CMYK Musik, Apnea)はMiguel Sarとしても知られるスペインのプロデューサー。幅広いエレクトロニック・ミュージック、特にデトロイトテクノに影響され、ほぼ全てのエレクトロニック・ダンスミュージックスタイルを網羅している。彼自身が運営するコンセプチュアル・テクノ・ダブレーベルCyclical Tracks. の所在するスペインでは、最も多作なプロデューサーの一人である。
