8:00PM – 11:00PM: Screening of latest visual work by Max Hattler (UK), Amanda Lopez (Spain) and Spielfilm (Japan). Audio-visual performance by Tokyo-based artist Kanta Horio. Preview of the upcoming UPLINK releases including DVD by Max Hattler and Robert Seidel. Artist talks and discussion are moderated by Nagako Hayashi. マックス・ハトラー、アマンダ・ロペス、シピアルフィルムの最新の映像作品の上映、そしてKanta Horioのオーディオビジュアル・パフォーマンス。UPLINK から発売されるマックス・ハトラーとロバート・サイデルのDVDの映像も上映される。トークには映像ライターの林永子が参加。

LOD a.k.a Luis Ortiz.

LOD, also known as Luis Ortiz, and Amanda Lopez (both from Spain) have been creating live audio-visual performances and releasing from Kitekture and Sinergy-networks labels since 2005. In their live performances they attempt to create symbiotic audio-visual compositions treating both music and visuals as one. The results are unique pieces of live performance art that have been presented to high critical acclaim all over the world both in art galleries and museums as well as such well known club venues as Berlin’s “Berghain” and “Watergate” and music festivals such as Sonar.

LODことルイス・オルティスは2005年よりアマンダ・ロペスと共にオーディオ・ビジュアル・パフォーマンスを行い、KitektureとSinergy-networksから音源をリリースしている。彼らのコラボレーションにおいては、初期段階からオーディオとビジュアルが共存する構造を生み出すため、音楽と映像はひとつのものとして扱われる。その結果彼らのパフォーマンスは、世界中の美術館やエレクトロニック・ダンス・シーン、ベルリンで有名なクラブ「Berghain」や「Watergate」、そしてソナーでも披露される、ユニークなパフォーマンス・アートの作品となった。

Max Hattler.

Max Hattler is visual artist and filmmaker from London whose short films have been winning numerous awards in film festivals world-wide. He was described by “Dazed and Confused” magazine as one of the “world’s most exciting young animators”. In his work he extensively collaborate with Robert Seidel who was honored by SHIFT|DOTMOV festival for his “mesmerizing, beautiful and disturbing work”. Their joint DVD will be released by UPLINK in Winter, 2008.

ロンドン在住の映像作家。世界中の映画祭で数多くの賞を受賞している。デイズド・アンド・コンフューズド誌は「世界で最もエキサイティングな若手アニメーター三人」としてハトラーの特集を組んだ。また、SHIFT|DOTMOVフェスティバルで「魅惑的で美しく、感動的な作品」と評されたドイツの映像作家、ロバート・サイデルとコラボレートすることも多い。二人の映像作品をまとめたDVD『マックス・ハトラーvs.ロバート・サイデル』が、2008年12月5日に発売される。

Kanta Horio.

Kanta Horio is a Tokyo-based visual and sound artist who creates sophisticated audio/visual performances using electromagnets, motors, contact microphones, paper clips, washi paper and a video camera. Since 2001, he has performed extensively around the world in both art galleries and night clubs as well as highly acclaimed festivals such as Sonar and Yokohama Trienalle.

Kanta Horio は東京を拠点に活動するアーティストで、電磁石、モーター、コンタクト・マイク、クリップ、和紙、ビデオカメラなどを駆使し洗練されたオーディオビジュアル・パフォーマンスを創り上げる。彼の使用する機器、およびそこから生まれる音や映像は、現実世界の身体的な事象に基づいている。2001年よりバルセロナ、メキシコ、モントリオール、トロントなど世界中のアートギャラリー、クラブで活動し、ソナー、横浜トリエンナーレなどでもパフォーマンスを披露してきた。

Nao Tokui.

Nao Tokui is researcher, artist, DJ and creator whose goal is to establish new relationship between music and human beings through composing sound and creating audio-visual installations. He has released his music on such acclaimed labels as Progressive Form and Fumiya Tanaka’s op.disk, performed extensively world-wide and exhibited his audio and visual installations at such prestigious art venues as NTT ICC gallery in Tokyo.

Nao Tokuiは、オーディオビジュアル・インスタレーションを構成、創造することを通じて音楽と人間の新しい関係性を確立することを目的とするリサーチャー、アーティストであり、DJでもある。Progressive Formや田中フミヤのop.diskなどのレーベルから音源をリリースし、海外でもパフォーマンスを行う。東京の NTT ICC でもオーディオ・インスタレーションを展示した経験を持つ。

Spielfilm.

Spielfilm is Tokyo-based algorithmic visual artist who constructs every visual element by directly programming them using symbolic programming languages. His visuals are sharp, simple, hypnotizing and unmistakably Spielfilm-like. He is a resident VJ with Minimal Tokyo collective and performed extensively at such top electronic music venues such as clubs UNIT, Womb as well as Metamorphose festival.

Spielfilmはプログラミング言語を使って映像要素を構成する、アルゴリズムのビジュアル・アーティスト。彼の映像は、シャープかつシンプル、魅惑的で独特である。Minimal TokyoのレジデントVJでもあり、UNIT、Wombなどの東京のクラブ、メタモルフォーゼ・フェスティバルなどでもパフォーマンスを行う。
