Gelman lounge produced by Minimal Tokyo, features screening of the latest short experimental movies and animations, followed by live electronic music performances by Berlin artist MAGNUM 38 (Shitcatapult) and Japanese electronic musician Aoki Takamasa (op.disk, PROGRESSIVE FOrM) who currently lives in Paris.

Magnum 38 a.k.a. Oliver Greschke

MAGNUM 38 is a Berlin, Germany-based electronic musician and sound designer. His music could be described as highly energetic dance music with breakbeat/rock elements, delivered with an in-your-face punk rock attitude. This explosive combination makes for extremely enthusiastic live performances. Magnum 38 has issued several releases on Shitkatapult label in Berlin. At the moment he is working on an album which will be released in autumn 2007. In June a 12 inch single with his new smash hit “Disco Toni” will hit the stores.

MAGNUM 38 はベルリン/ドイツをベースに活躍するエレクトロニックミュージシャン、サウンドデザイナーです。彼の音楽はブレイクビーツ、ロックの要素が特徴的なエネルギッシュなダンスサウンドで、挑戦的なパンクロックの精神を届けます。彼の挑発的な音のコンビネーションで最高に熱狂的なライブパフォーマンスを披露します。Magnum 38はShitkatapult からいくつかリリースをしていて、現在２００７年秋にリリースされる予定のアルバムを製作中。６月には彼のヒットトラック Disco Toniの12inch シングルが発売されます。

Aoki Takamasa

Aoki Takamasa was born in 1976 in Osaka and is presently residing in Paris, France. Since his first album, ‘SILICOM’, released at the beginning of 2001 on Progressive Form, Aoki has been constantly developing his personal musical style and methodology releasing a number of highly acclaimed 12 inches and CD albums on Progressive Form and op-disc labels. Most recently, Aoki released an album in collaboration with Tujiko Noriko of Fat Cat Records, contributed a minimal track for op.disc, recorded a cover of The Beatles song ‘I Will’ for the BBC radio show ‘One World’, and completed a joint production with a contemporary dancer/image writer of YCAM fame.

1976年大阪府出身、現在フランス・パリ在住。2001年初めにファーストアルバム‘SILCOM’ (Progressive Form)をリリースして以来、青木は常に独自の音楽表現・方法を築いており、大変評価の高い12inchとCDを Progressive Formとop-disc からリリースしている。最近では、Fat Cat RecordsよりTujiko Norikoとのコラボレーションアルバムのリリース、op-discへのミニマルトラックの提供、ビートルズの’I Will’をBBCラジオ番組の ‘One World’のためにカバーしたり、YCAMでのコンテンポラリーダンサー・映像作家との共同制作などを行っている。
