Minimal Tokyo is proud to present “Connaisseur Recordings Label Night” at club UNIT on January 30th, 2009. Alex Flitsch, the label owner and Patrick Chardronnet, a Connaisseur artist will join Minimal Tokyo resident DJs Tatsuya, Ivan Kuzbass and Shu Okuyama to launch Connaisseur Recordings in Japan. They will be accompanied by a special visual set presented by Tokyo-based art and performance group Delaware.

A connaisseur is a person who has a great deal of expertise in matters of fine taste. Similarly, since its launch in 2005, Connaisseur Recordings have been offering highly sophisticated electronic music with distinctive cosmopolitan flavor. It has rapidly became one of the top cutting-edge German music labels releasing deep house and minimal techno of highest standards. Its a home to such fine artists as Patrick Chardronnet, Daso, Ripperton, Simon Baker and Afrilounge, with Audiofly and Timo Maas joining the label roster in the coming year. PATRICK CHARDRONNET (Connaisseur, Poker Flat, Raum Musik) is making a different kind of techno. In his compositions he creates intricate works of art impeccably mixed, minimal yet highly emotional and immensely enjoyable on the dance floor. With his first release on Raum Musik, he caused quite a stir in clubs world wide which was followed by a series of smashing hits from Poker Flat, Connaisseur and Raum Musik. His releases as well as fantastic remixes for Poker Flat, My Best Friend, Crosstown Rebels, Kickboxer and other well-known labels firmly established him as one of the most innovative and exciting producers in the scene. His talents are highly sought after and he toured extensively worldwide playing alongside with Alexander Kowalski, M.A.N.D.Y, Oliver Koletzki and Gabriel Ananda. We welcome Patrick to Japan and looking forward to playing with him at Minimal Tokyo 11.

PATRICK CHARDRONNET は異質なテクノを制作するアーティストです。複雑かつ緻密にミックスされた彼の楽曲は完成度が高く、ミニマルであると同時にエモーショナルでもあり、フロアー栄えするディープな構成が特徴です。Raum Musikからのファーストリリースは世界中のクラブを揺るがし、その後もPoker Flat、Connaisseur 、Raum Musikからのヒット曲を出しています。また、Poker Flat、My Best Friend、Crosstown Rebels、Kickboxerなどの著名なレーベルのリミックスを手掛けたことにより、今日最も革新的でエキサイティングなプロデューサーとしての確固たる地位を築きました。その後も多くののオファーを受け、Alexander Kowalski、M.A.N.D.Y、Oliver Koletzki、Gabriel　Anandaらとツアー共演をしています。

ALEX FLITSCH, the owner of Connaisseur Recordings, has played in nearly every German town that has clubs. His DJ sets are always exciting and unpredictable, mix of new and old, famous and not so famous, club anthems and collector’s secrets, versatilely mixed and passionately presented. A music aficionado, he started Connaisseur Recordings in 2005 with a series of excellent releases by Patrick Chardronnet and Afrilounge that quickly elevated Connaisseur Recordings to become the most popular new label in Germany.

レーベルオーナーである ALEX FLITSCH は、ドイツのクラブのほとんどの都市でプレイしてきたDJキャリアを持ちます。彼のDJは常に刺激的で驚きに満ちており、新・旧、有名・無名、クラブでの人気
曲からコレクターズ・トラックまで多才にミックスし、情熱的なプレイが特徴です。音楽マニアでもあるAlexは、 2005年にConnaisseur Recordingsを発足。Patrick ChardronnetとAfriloungeのリリースによって瞬く間にドイツで人気レーベルになりました。

DELAWARE is a Japanese art group. Their work takes on multiple forms such as music recordings, installations, print and poster design, interactive web, mobile phone applications and live performances. They describe themselves as “Artoonist” (which means Art + Cartoon) and performed and exhibited extensively world-wide at such locations as MOMA in New York and Center Pompidou in Paris. Their iPhone interactive music application Records001 has been recently released on Apple store to universal acclaim.

DELAWARE は日本のアートグループ。作品は、ミュージック・レコーディング、インスタレーション、プリント／ポスターデザイン、インタラクティブ・ウェブ、携帯アプリケーション、ライブパフォーマンスと多岐に渡る。自称アートゥーニスト(アートゥーンは、アートとカートゥーンの合成語である)としてニューヨークのMOMA、パリのポンピドー・センターなど世界各地で幅広く展示、パフォーマンスを行っている。最近、iPhoneのインタラクティブ・ミュージックアプリケーション「Records001 」がアップル・ストアよりリリースされた。
